I strive to explain in simple terms what the findings have been and how to proceed with the management of the condition(s) for the best possible outcome. I welcome and encourage open and ongoing dialogue with my patients, their families, support networks and medical team. My patients have, over the years, continually educated me to be a better person and better doctor by showing me the importance of empathy, compassion and including them in shared decision making.

Diabetes Retinopathy Awareness Camp

This project raises public awareness of diabetes retinopathy through screening and education.
The project aims at screening the effect of diabetes on retina (back sensitive part of eye) called Diabetic Retinopathy.
The project does not involve the other detail examination of eyes and does not aim at prescribing spectacles.
The Examination of retina will be done after dilating the pupils with Tropicacyl Plus Eye Drop. The vision may remain blurred for another one day. If you are not OK with this please inform us beforehand.

DR. VIKAS K. GUPTA

Dr. Vikas Gupta is a post graduate from the prestigious Seth G.S. Medical college and the K.E.M Hospital Mumbai from where he passed his MS in 2009. He passed his MBBS graduation and did his internship at the same institute Seth G.S. Medical College and the K.E.M Hospital Mumbai in 2003 and 2005 respectively. In both terms, he secured his position in K.E.M through the All India Entrance Examination. He has a brilliant academic career winning several prizes like “Merit Certificate and Scholarship” from Central Board New Delhi for obtaining all-time highest marks in General Science all across the country in Board Exam. During his residency, he was his teachers’ and colleagues’ favorite for his enthusiasm towards learning new skills and excellent diagnostic acumen for complicated diseases. His research work and thesis on Glaucoma were well appreciated by teachers and colleagues. More so he learned the latest diagnostic and surgical skills from renowned practitioners in Mumbai city. At Retina Foundation he received training from World Famous Professor Dr. Ingrid Kreissig, Germany. After his residency, he served as Lecturer in Grants Medical College and Sir J J Group of Hospitals Mumbai under Padmashree Professor Dr. T P Lahane.
